JKYJA reacts to proposed flag hoisting in Lal Chowk | KNO

Jammu and Kashmir young Journalists Association (JKYJA) has strongly reacted to the reports that a journalist association from Jharkhand is on its way to Kashmir for hoisting the tri-colour on the historic Ghantaghar in the heart of Lal Chowk. JKYJA, in a press release, said that such attempts backed the rightwing Hindutva forces are an attempt to disrupt peace in Kashmir.

“These non-Kashmiri journalist need to understand Kashmir politics and show some sensitivity while dealing with it,” said JKYJA President Ajaz Ahmad War. “Attempts like these are an attempt to communalise and vitiate the atmosphere further and we know who it benefits finally. These activists of Sangh Parivar in the garb of journalists should refrain from any such act as it can lead to a really nasty situation.” He said such initiatives can lead to counter initiatives and the fallout can be bloody.
